Impulslaserdioden mit homogenem Strahlprofil

Impulslaserdioden werden immer effizienter und leistungsstärker. Somit stellen sie eine echte Alternative zu teuren und großen Lasersystemen dar. Ein Vorteil der Festkörperlaser ist das sehr gute Strahlprofil. Um das bei Halbleiter-Laserdioden zu erreichen, bedarf es externer Strahlformungselemente oder Homogenisier. Optional können Streuscheiben, diffraktive Elemente oder lange Lichtwellenleiter verwendet werden, wobei bei allen Varianten zum einen Leistung verloren geht oder der mechanische Aufwand sehr groß ist.

Nun ist es LASER COMPONENTS‘ Entwicklern in Kanada gelungen, ihre leistungsstarken, multi junction PLDs mit einer speziellen Faserstruktur zu verbinden. Dabei wird bereits nach wenigen cm ein homogenes Strahlprofil erreicht. Abb. 1 zeigt die Nahfeldverteilung der Pulslaserdiode mit drei epitaktisch integrierten Emittern. Bereits nach 13 mm ist ein deutlich homogeneres Strahlprofil zu sehen. Abb. 2 zeigt das Strahlprofil nach 55 mm. Vorteil dieses Aufbaues ist es, dass die Bauform kompakt und robust ist bei gleichzeitig geringen Verlusten und somit hoher Spitzenleistung. Prototypen sind momentan im Aufbau, bei Interesse berücksichtigt LASER COMPONENTS sogar Kundenwünsche.
