So werden nun PM-Patchkabel (polarisationserhaltende Faser) gefertigt: beginnend bei den typischen Telekom-Wellenlängen bis hin zu kleineren Wellenlängen von etwa 450 nm. Dabei ist sowohl die passive als auch die aktive Faserausrichtung für die PM-Fasern möglich.
Weiterhin können 125 μm Endcaps in FC und FC/APC Stecker integriert werden. Die strahlverbreitenden Endkappen dienen der Verringerung der Leistungsdichte an den Steckerstirnflächen. Die Länge der Endcaps kann der Kunde bestimmen. Auch reine Endcaps ohne Stecker sind verfügbar.
Ideale Anwendungsmöglichkeiten ergeben sich bei Laser- und medizinischen Anwendungen.
