LASER COMPONENTS stellt Einkoppeleinheiten für CO2-Laser vor: Diese werden einfach an einen CO2-Laser angeflanscht, sodass sich die Laserstrahlen verlustarm in eine Hohlkernfaser einkoppeln lassen - der Laserstrahl darf dabei bis zu 5,0 mm betragen. Untersuchungen zeigten ein gutes Transmissionsverhalten für Fasern mit 750 μm und 1000 μm Innendurchmesser.

Durch den modularen Flanschaufbau kann die Einkoppeleinheit an jede verfügbare CO2 Laserquelle angeschlossen werden. Diverse Einstellschrauben ermöglichen die optimale Justage des Laserstrahls über zwei rotatorische und drei translatorische Achsen. Zur Befestigung mit einer Faser ist die Einkoppeleinheit mit einem SMA Anschluss versehen. Entsprechende Hohlkernfasern im stabilen Metallmantel sind ebenfalls verfügbar; sie sind zudem mit einem ZnSe-Fenster versehen, um das Eindringen von Schmutz zu verhindern.
