Begonnen wurde laut Wintrich mit 12.000 Behältern, die für die Belieferung eines chinesisch-deutschen Joint Ventures von VW benötigt werden. Wachsenden Bedarf für seine Produkte sieht KTP überall auf der Welt, wo neue Automobilwerke gebaut werden. "Deshalb müssen wir noch internationaler werden", beschreibt Wintrich die Zielvorgabe. Nächster großer Schritt in Taicang soll die zusätzliche Errichtung einer eigenen Produktionsstätte sein. In der Millionenstadt gibt es bereits mehr als 200 Vertretungen deutscher Firmen.
Das familiengeführte Unternehmen KTP (140 festangestellte Mitarbeiter / 37 Mio. Euro Jahresumsatz 2014) hat sich seit 1988 auf die Herstellung und Entwicklung mehrwegfähiger Transportverpackungen aus Kunststoff spezialisiert. Die selbst entwickelte, weltweit patentierte faltbare Transportbox zur Beförderung industrieller Zulieferteile erhielt in den letzten Jahren mehrfach Branchen-Auszeichnungen.
Die Firma mit Produktionsstätte in Bous sowie Auslandsvertretungen in Frankreich, Italien und Spanien zählt zu den führenden Herstellern in Europa. Zu Kunden zählen u.a. die Automobilhersteller BMW, Fiat, Ford, Peugeot, Porsche und VW sowie Miele und Bosch-Siemens Hausgeräte.
