Alle Mitarbeiter des Werks waren im Vorfeld per Intranet und mittels Aushängen informiert worden, so dass der Andrang groß war. Zu den Waffeln gab es eine mobile Kaffeebar, die für passende Heißgetränke sorgte. Die Aktion "Waffelbacken" gibt es am Neckarsulmer Standort jedoch nicht zum ersten Mal - die Idee entstand bereits im letzten Jahr, als vier Mitarbeiterinnen beim Essen saßen, berichtet Mitorganisatorin Ruzica Kraljevic. Auch Fotograf Thomas Frank vom Heilbronner Fotostudio M42, der das Ereignis fotografisch festgehalten hat, hat sich an der Aktion beteiligt und sein Honorar als Spende zur Verfügung gestellt. Die so entstandene Gesamtsumme von etwa 1.700 Euro wurde von KSPG aufgerundet.
"Große Hilfe für kleine Helden" ist zugleich Stiftung und Verein und unterstützt kranke Kinder sowie ihre Familien während und nach eines Aufenthalts an der Kinderklinik in Heilbronn. In enger Kooperation mit Ärzten und Pflegeteams werden Projekte gefördert, die optimale Betreuungs- und Behandlungsmaßnahmen im Klinikalltag möglich machen, aber von den Krankenkassen und anderen Kostenträgern nicht übernommen werden.
