Emission reduction for the engines of today and tomorrow

Auto-components supplier KSPG at Auto Shanghai

(PresseBox) (Neckarsulm, )
Auto Shanghai is being held from April 22 to 29 at the International Center for Exhibition and Convention in Shanghai where KSPG AG's Hardparts, Mechatronics and Aftermarket divisions are presenting their products in the German Pavilion in hall 6.2 on stand 6B E 503. The German first-tier supplier is exhibiting components from its Kolbenschmidt and Pierburg brands that will play a major role in reducing emissions on future engine generations. Also on show in original equipment quality are aftermarket components such as pumps, pistons, valves, cylinder head gaskets.

KSPG is emphasizing its professional partnership role with the auto industry, the broad-based product lineup indicating how fuel consumption and emissions can be lowered with products such as exhaust-gas recirculation systems, throttle flaps and valves plus pumps with variable on-demand delivery rates. The steel and lightweight pistons with friction-reducing technologies along with high-duty plain bearings on show at Auto Shanghai are also helping to make engines kinder to the environment

Emission reduction in China
Statistics tell us that China has over 264 million motor vehicles of which 154 million are passenger cars. Altogether 18.4 million new vehicles were sold in all of 2014 during which auto production jumped 9 percent. To address the generally high pollution prevalent in the Beijing capital, March1, 2013 saw the introduction of the Beijing 5 emission standard. This is somewhat like Euro 5. 2016 will already see the advent of its successor Beijing 6.

KSPG in China
In fiscal 2014 KSPG's total sales in China surged almost 30 percent compared with the previous year, to over €650 million. Ever since 1997, the KSPG Group has been represented on the Chinese market through joint ventures and companies of its own. Meanwhile, the Group is China's biggest producer of car cylinder heads and has altogether nine locations in the Shanghai and Yantai regions. The meanwhile three joint ventures with Huayu Automotive Systems Co. Ltd., which belongs to SAIC, in themselves have a workforce in China of around 4,400. KSPG manufactures in China pistons for cars and commercial vehicles, large-bore pistons, exhaust-gas recirculation valves, throttle valves, coolant and oil pumps as well as cylinder heads, structural parts in aluminium, and engine blocks. The Group's Asia-Pacific aftermarket business is controlled from Shanghai.
