iTAC.BI.Portal: Business Intelligence for Industry 4.0

Big data can be directly accessed mobile, fast and reliable – even out of the cloud

(PresseBox) (Montabaur, )
Transparency within a smart factory is now being realized by the Business Intelligence service of iTAC Software AG (www.itacsoftware.com). Thereby iTAC.BI.Portal functions as central instance for analyzing, reporting as well as data editing. Being a web application it furthermore ensures a mobile access to all production keys of global plants.

The German initiative Industry 4.0 requires greatest possible transparency over the fully comprehensive value chain (e. g. supply chain). For that reason iTAC has integrated a process-oriented, centralized and web-based Business Intelligence solution into its Manufacturing Execution System (MES). The infrastructure to run the iTAC.BI.Portal is highly scalable as well as based on the proven iTAC.ARTES-middleware which is combined with the efficient application server BIRT iHub 3.

On this basis decision-relevant information can be collected, managed and in favor of Manufacturing Intelligence quality controls and traceability can be provided securely. With interactive reports, analyses and dashboards the iTAC-BI-service provides a full transparency within the production key management. Thus, reduced cycle times result in an increase in productivity, among other things, and with this in accompanied saving potentials.

The virtual reality
The online availability of all production-relevant KPIs is guaranteed as well as the mobile access via iOS® or Android® terminals. Therefore, the web-based technology supports the Internet of Things’ target to forge links between the real and virtual world. The seamless communication between sensors and the internet is one of the most important key factors for Industry 4.0.

The high availability, scalability and automatic, elastic clustering of this solution are essential to provide big data simultaneously, fast and reliably. This is possible within the private, the hybrid as well as the public cloud. Furthermore, the solution is scalable within the “virtual cloud” and can be adapted flexibly to big data and millions of users.

Business Intelligence will be implemented by the uniform reporting and analyzing architecture of BI-specialist Actuate including the iTAC.ARTES-middleware.

Thus, personalized data visualizations and perfect analyses are created – with highest security. With the corresponding online availability and cloud ability as well as the resulting mobility at 4.0-niveau the MES specialist supports plants to consequently realize the Internet of Things.
