mGuard Security Router for Process Engineering

Security is becoming an increasingly important topic in process engineering. With the new mGuard security router Innominate and Phoenix Contact are keeping abreast of this trend. The security router meets both the demanding standards for process industry hardware and for IT security products. In terms of hardware features include an extended temperature range of -40 to +70 °C, IECEx and ATEX approvals for hazardous areas, and the testing for airborne contaminant gases to ISA-S71.04-1985 G3 Harsh Group A. With regard to the software, the additional security component OPC Inspector for the OPC Classic protocol, which is widely used in the industry, has been integrated alongside the well-known mGuard security functions. The FL MGUARD RS4000 TX/TX-P can be ordered from Phoenix Contact as article No. 2702259.

mGuard Firmware Version 8.3 Available

Innominate presents the new version 8.3 of its mGuard security appliance firmware with many new features. With mGuard 8.3 extensive firewall configurations are simplified by summarizing IP and port ranges in groups with a freely assigned name. The mGuard now also supports the authentication method "Extended Authentication" (XAuth) and "Mode Config" as a server and as a client. This improves its interoperability including support of Apple iOS as a VPN client. Providing functions for dynamic routing (OSPF) and GRE tunneling, mGuard is 8.3 ideally suited for application scenarios in large, complex networks and VPN structures. Numerous central improvements complete the picture of a state of the art security firmware.
