Noisefree audio transmission up to 10 km with balanced audio modules

(PresseBox) (Oberteuringen, )
IHSE today announces the release of balanced audio upgrade modules to enable the integration of professional microphones into KVM environments. Used in conjunction with existing KVM extender series, the new modules enable the extension of balanced audio signals with high resolution 4K video and USB over a single copper or fiber cable.

IHSE, a world-leading manufacturer of advanced KVM products for the switching and extension of computer signals, offers the new balanced audio modules as an upgrade to all Draco vario extender series. These enable the virtual noise-free extension of audio signals together with video (4K DisplayPort, HDMI, DVI, VGA) and USB (keyboard, mouse, touchscreens and storage devices) over a single transmission line. The devices are used in pairs to extend signal transmission to 140 m with Cat X cable or 10 km with fiber.

Professional audio installations, such as live recording environments, conference rooms and medical operating rooms, often make use of the superior noise rejection offered by balanced audio equipment. It delivers a cleaner, higher quality signal which is particularly important for low signal level devices like microphones with long leads. A KVM infrastructure used with balanced audio conversion allows audio signals to be transmitted to equipment with digital audio processing capability.

Both transmitter and receiver modules are equipped with two 1⁄4 inch audio jack ports for microphones and electric instruments. Each port features a separate DIP switch to enable an internal 9 - 60 dB preamplifier. Users can also adjust sample-rate and preamp in the config file. The module includes a phantom power feature for use with condenser microphones requiring an external power supply.

The modules are compatible with all existing Draco vario extenders and can be combined with all digital audio signal standards including HDMI and DisplayPort. The modules are highly suited to Draco tera matrix switches and can be installed in space-saving Draco vario chassis.
