KVM to rely on

How G&D demonstrates more than Made in Germany at Broadcast Asia

(PresseBox) (Wilnsdorf, )
KVM systems have become an integral part of today’s broadcast infrastructures. They help optimise workflows, provide an improved working environment and, most importantly, are extremely flexible. With the transition to file-based workflows, the use of IT systems in the broadcast industry has drastically increased. Therefore, the faultless and intuitive operation of said systems is extremely important. Being an essential part of the IT infrastructure, KVM systems therefore also provide support in controlling the play-out. That’s not the only reason the reliability of these components plays such a crucial role.

Already at first glance, G&D products meet the attributes associated with the term "Made in Germany". The promise the robust housing makes is kept by the boards and components. It’s not without reason that the manufacturer has always been known for offering systems, which run according to the principle “install & forget”.

However, for G&D it is not enough to simply rely on the aspect “Made in Germany”. Quality is lived in the company and that’s why G&D’s test department is second to none. Here, all newly developed products are extensively tested. Thanks to these extensive tests, the devices are checked for every eventuality and all errors are eliminated before the equipment leaves the company. Thus, customers won’t have to deal with any unpleasant surprise during operation.

But when it comes to quality, G&D have more to offer than the tests of new products. The parts of the on-going manufacturing must also undergo end tests to maintain the consistent high standard.

All of these processes are exactly matched. To keep it this way, the company has been certified according to DIN ISO 9001:2008 several years ago, which does not only make processes future-proof, but contributes to the perfect interplay of the developed components. Often, it’s the detail that counts. Therefore, G&D’s portfolio lets you combine even components with different firmware versions.

Of course nobody’s perfect and even at G&D, some details can go wrong sometimes. Good to know that the support team can be reached from most countries via a toll-free number and offers fast and uncomplicated help.

The compatibility mentioned above is also key to one of the new products that will be presented at this year’s Broadcast Asia. Due to the recurring demand especially from the Asian region, G&D now offer the possibility to integrate HDMI systems into KVM matrix installations. The components are compatible with the entire portfolio and thus can be connected to modules for the transmission of VGA, DVI or DisplayPort™ signals.

With their improved meaning of “Made in Germany” G&D are successfully represented around the world. How Asian and other broadcasters can reliably implement their individual requirements, the company will show at Broadcast Asia at stand 5H5-02.
