GfM put into operation condition monitoring systems at HKM

(PresseBox) (Berlin, )
GfM Gesellschaft fuer Maschinendiagnose mbH located in Berlin has equiped two further cranes at HKM Huettenwerke Krupp Mannesmann GmbH in Duisburg with condition monitoring systems and put them into operation. The crane trolleys, the main and the auxiliary trolleys as well as their hoisting gear with motors, gearboxes, rope drum bearings and fixed pulleys are monitored.

The condition monitoring system “Peakanalyzer” is a development of GfM. It uses the normal operating movements of the crane. Therefore no specific rides are required. This is realized by monitoring the speed of the rotating drive elements and when reaching the specific diagnostic conditions, the measurement will start. After the measurement a plausibility check is carried out, which guarantees that the valid measuring signals with sufficient length are present. If this is not the case, the measurement is rejected and it is waited until the respective diagnostic conditions are reached again.

From the now measured and plausibility tested time signals, the order spectra and the envelope order spectra are built. These are subject of a DVS-analysis and it is searched for typical damage patterns. If such patterns are not found, the data will be discarded. However, an alarm is generated and the measuring data are stored.

The support of the condition monitoring system is carried out from Berlin. Here, alarms are indicated and verified by the diagnostic experts of GfM. Only then, the system operator is informed. At any time, the support of the system can be carried out by HKM or a third party.

The installation of the accelerometers and the entire laying of the cables will be performed by HKM. GfM is responsible for the installation of the pre-assembled Peakanalyzers in switch cabinets and the commissioning.

The DVS-analysis – a patent pending method for the automated machine diagnosis, ensures that the condition monitoring systems are able to work immediately without a learning phase.

GfM Gesellschaft für Maschinendiagnose mbH

GfM was established in 1999 and offers machine diagnostic and metrological services and therefore the required offline measurement equipment as well as the Online Condition Monitoring system "Peakanalyzer". Moreover, GfM offers seminars about machine diagnosis and vibration diagnosis.

By means of the vibration diagnosis it is possible to detect smallest irregularities at mechanical drive trains of machines especially at the gearbox at an early stage. These irregularities can be for instance damages at rolling bearings, gears and shafts, imbalance and alignment errors. That way the operator of a machine gets information on the condition, which facilitates the maintenance and saves him from unplanned shutdowns.

The CMS "Peakanalyzer" does not need a learning phase and only a relatively small support effort. This is achieved through the integrated DVS-analysis in the device which makes the analysis of irregularities largely automatically. During the development of the system and the method a great importance was set on the data quality. The analysis occurs preferably in the order spectra which are created by resampling. Furthermore, it is possible to attach a particle counter at the 16 channelled system for the lubricant analysis. In addition, the message of several events or conditions can be activated which means.

The GfM is independent. There exist absolutely no commitments to replacement part distributors, maintenance companies or insurance companies for the drive engineering. The diagnosis and expert reports are consequently neutral.
