Good start for new Deichmann mobile shop

(PresseBox) (Dortmund, )
  • getit creates mobile shopping experience for Deichmann
  • International mobile rollout in 2015
Better, faster, more attractive. – getit has realized the new mobile shop for Deichmann, Europe's largest shoe retailer. Better usability, optimized processes and clearer interfaces make mobile shopping at Deichmann.de a thoroughly positive experience for trend-conscious customers. And the success of the new mobile shop, which represents an extension of the company's omni-channel strategy, is already bringing measurable results with sales having increased significantly since going live at the start of September.

Mobile & desktop in alignment

Based on the existing hybris platform, getit has executed the complete redevelopment of the interfaces of the Deichmann mobile shop, which was launched in 2012. The user-friendly design was enhanced with excellent product images generated using Adobe Scene 7 in platform-appropriate sizes. This means that mobile users, too, can browse easily through footwear and accessories and view products in maximum image quality before making their purchases. In addition to the development of the front end, the back end processes have also been modified and adapted. Although they have platform-specific concepts, the Deichmann.de desktop and mobile versions deliver a seamless experience with nearly identical processes and look. For the customer this alignment of technologies means a consistent shopping experience across all platforms, and for the IT department it means increased efficiency in terms of maintenance and further development. According to Christian Hackel, Head of International Marketing at Deichmann: "In our omni-channel strategy mobile commerce is a major component that will gain in importance in future. With our enhanced mobile shop we are making a significant step forward and offering our customers outstanding user friendliness combined with a great visual design."

New mobile shop for everyone
With the international rollout scheduled for this year, the success of the German mobile shop looks set to be continued in all other countries with Deichmann shops. "In the implementation of the German mobile shop we considered the process of international mobilisation in terms of country-specific features," explains getit CEO Christoph Hecker. "This enables us to execute the rollout effectively and also ensure the consistently high quality of all the company's mobile shops."
