Krishna Samraj, Managing Director of Magna Electro Casting Ltd and IIF President, made a point during his message of greetings at the IFEX while speaking about the achievements of the Indian Southern Region and Coimbatore. “They have left no stone unturned to present the IIF flagship as the biggest foundry event in India ever”.
Supported by Dr. Nithyanandan Devaraaj (IIF), Mr. Ashwani Pande (Managing Director Koelnmesse YA Tradefair) and Mr. C.R. Swaminathan (Chairman Organizing Committee) IIF provided an impressive overview about the foundry technology and machinery for more than 5.000 visitors and 1.600 delegates and more than 290 exhibitors. In spite of all world economic influences and the slow development in the Indian Foundry Industry, the Coimbatore Congress and Exhibition has bolstered up for the future.
The Southern Region contributes more than 15% of castings produced in India, Coimbatore contributes 50%, making this a convenient location for leaders of the industry to meet as well as OEM representatives, academics, traders and buyers. The leaders of the Indian Foundry Industry and the Institute of Indian Foundrymen unanimously emphasized their ambitious targets with a common spirit. The stake holders commitment is to triple the production of castings to 30 million tons per year in 10 years time.
We will follow up these targets and check the state of development from time to time. That´s what international experts, suppliers, buyers and even friends are for.
Next year will be the 65th congress in Kolkata and the next IFEX follows in 2018.
