FRAMOS Image Processing Solutions: Ensuring Quality and Monitoring Production in Photonics

(PresseBox) (Taufkirchen, )
With a deep knowledge from sensor to system, global imaging provider FRAMOS will showcase its innovative portfolio of image processing components, system solutions and related engineering services for measuring and testing technology, industrial engineering, optics, medical technology and electronics at

SPIE Photonics West 2016 – the leading American conference and show for the laser, optoelectronics and photonics sector - San Francisco, 13–18 February 2016.

World largest sensor provider and technology leader Sony is co-exhibiting at the FRAMOS booth and will show his latest imaging sensors based on the Exmore technology for applications in need of high resolution, high-speed and sensitivity. FRAMOS engineers have prepared two demo stations showcasing the Exmor R-Based IMX174 versus the Exmor RS-based IMX250 for resolution, sensitivity and dynamic range, in colour and monochrome. Both coming with backside illumination, the IMX250 with its stacked pixel architecture provides a better response due to the higher pixel fill factor.

Equipped with both showcased Sony sensors, camera manufacturer SMARTEK Vision, as well co-exhibitor at FRAMOS, provides the newest models of its flagship series Giganetix Plus for the demo stations. The GCP2061 and GCP2461 offer industrial end users and system integrators many unique features. Even in poor lighting conditions and with short exposure times, these cameras are suitable for many applications, e.g. high-speed automation, outdoor and traffic monitoring, or sport filming and are an excellent choice to drive existing systems and to open up new fields of applications. With many years of experience designing industrial cameras, SMARTEK also support customers with application-specific adaptations to integrate the cameras into their applications.

The high performance strobe controllers of the HPSC series round out the SMARTEK portfolio exhibited in San Francisco. SMARTEK Strobe Controllers are designed for industrial imaging applications where fast moving objects need to be captured with minimal image blur. Due to ultra-short but high power flashes, illumination intensity is significantly increased with reduced thermal effects for the LEDs, allowing for a safe exploitation of LED illumination devices beyond their standard mode of operation.

As part of FRAMOS’ own engineering know how, the imaging expert will display its self-developed Optical Tracking Technology showing the stereo vision aspect on how machine vision is being used to track devices or products in 3 dimensional space. The FRAMOS OTS is suitable for all measuring applications of object position and orientation that require high accuracy like robot guidance, tool-navigation in medical or 3D measurement with machine-guided measuring tools.

Lumenera, a leading manufacturer of high performance digital cameras for scientific and high-demand industrial applications, shows its latest USB3.0 Vision camera Lt965R that draws the most from the industry leading Sony's EXview HAD II CCD Quad Tap sensor technology. This camera is ideal high-resolution surveillance, traffic, tolling, ophthalmology, life sciences, high-speed inspection, machine vision and NIR applications. A scientific-grade variant is available for the most demanding life science applications.

The FRAMOS team of image processing experts will present their broad range of components, solutions and engineering services at SPIE Photonics West, booth n° 5636 and will provide extensive support in both selecting products and configuring applications for industry-specific challenges.
