eCl@ss gewinnt bei der BASF an Bedeutung

Nach der Integration des PROLIST-Content in den eCl@ss-Standard wird eCl@ss bei der BASF nicht nur im Produktdatenmanagement sondern zukünftig auch im Engineering und in der Instandhaltung eingesetzt werden.

Aus Sicht von Dr. Matthias Fankhänel, Leiter Technische Fachzentren der BASF SE, ist eCl@ss das vorherrschende System, welches in Breite und Tiefe notwendige Belange im Lifecycle einer prozesstechnischen Anlage abdeckt. Dies umfasst die Nutzung der Geräteklassifikation von eCl@ss und eine vollständige Gerätebeschreibung durch Merkmale.

Die BASF ist Gründungsmitglied von eCl@ss und PROLIST und unterstützt schon seit vielen Jahren die fachliche Weiterentwicklung und internationale Verbreitung der eCl@ss-Produkte. Nach der Verschmelzung des PROLIST-Vereins in eCl@ss sind auch PROLIST-Mitglieder wie z.B. Endress+Hauser Consult AG, Pepperl + Fuchs GmbH, Yokogawa Electric Corporation dem eCl@ss e.V. beigetreten.

Für eine elektronische und automatisierte Kommunikation im E-Business ist insbesondere die Verwendung einer "gemeinsamen Sprache" zwingend erforderlich, die nicht nur vom Menschen, sondern auch von der Maschine verstanden wird.
