Founded in 2013 by Simon Bolz and Dr. Simon Lorenz, the startup aims to digitize the communication between doctors and patients. After entering German-speaking markets beginning 2014, Klara expanded to the US the following summer and now works with more US doctors in over 30 states.
The investment will be used to strengthen Klara's position in the US as well as improving its platform. "We are happy to be able to accelerate our US efforts with these strong partners and will use the fresh funds to expand quickly across the US. At the same time, we will further improve our product for patients and doctors, in order to lift their relationship into the digital age." says Klara founder Simon Bolz, who manages the product team in Berlin, Germany.
For Klara the US is the most relevant market. Market size, legal conditions and the adoption of innovative solutions by patients and doctors make the US a highly attractive market. These factors will enable Klara to scale successfully.
"We see great potential in the eHealth segment and are convinced that Klara's team, business model and technology put the company in an excellent position to take a leading role in this space. Klara is also a great fit for us, as we can leverage our experience in eHealth as well as in the Mobile market," says Pawel Schapiro, Investment Manager at Creathor Venture. "We fully share and support Klara's vision for a rapid expansion in the US."
