Background

We live in a forever evolving digital movement where data thrives at the very core. Data is the foundation. It’s the fuel. It’s the foothold for crucial infrastructure in which the creation of new services, customer approaches, price models and even eco systems depend on. Ever increasingly is information technology generating an unprecedented amount of data, which is essential to interrogate, process and evaluate in order to really understand how current business procedures can evolve.

Entrepreneurial innovative businesses, as well as “classical” drivers, increasingly demand high quality data in order to harmonize their processes. Actually obtaining data with value can be a somewhat lengthy procedure, but once it’s accurately organized, data becomes an asset that businesses can fully benefit from. Today, companies in the digital economy should consider prioritizing their data management alongside their everyday business costs, time evaluations and quality control measures.

Since 2012, the Competence Center Corporate Data Quality (CC CDQ) and the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) support companies on their journey to data management excellence and honor outstanding achievements with the CDQ Good Practice Award.
