Mit der Implementierung von EtherNet/IP in die Regler- und Umrichterbaureihe b maXX 5000 erweitert der Nürnberger Hersteller von Antriebs- und Automatisierungslösungen Baumüller sein Feldbusportfolio.

EtherNet/IP (Ethernet Industrial Protocol) ist ein offener Industrie-Standard für industrielles Echtzeit-Ethernet, basierend auf TCP/IP und UDP/IP. EtherNet/IP hat den Vorteil, dass eine Durchgängigkeit vom Unternehmensnetz über das Internet oder andere IP-Netze bis in die Produktionsnetze gegeben ist. Damit kann ein durchgängiger Informationsfluss innerhalb des Unternehmens, aber auch über die Zulieferer hinaus aufgebaut werden. EtherNet/IP wird spezifiziert und gepflegt von der Organisation ODVA (Open DeviceNet Vendor Association).
