Supplementary to the internationally renowned Developer Forum Battery Technologies held in Aschaffenburg, Germany, the goal of this event, held for the first time in Hamburg, was to offer newcomers and experienced developers from the north of Germany an opportunity to locally acquire, with relatively little effort, information about major trends and new developments in the area of battery technologies. However, according to Dr. Jochen Mähliß, head of Batteryuniversity, such an immediate and overwhelming response to this initial event had not been expected. “The huge interest in the event shows once again that the topic of battery technologies is gaining relevance in an ever increasing range of applications. In 2016, we will definitely take this development even more strongly into account than before with enhancements to some of the content, but especially with an expansion of the space available at the location in Hamburg. We would like to take this opportunity to express our apologies to all interested parties, who were unable to take part in the event this time, due to lack of space.”
The growing importance of innovative storage technologies for various end-uses is also reflected in the constantly increasing number of speakers and participants over recent years at the Developer Forum Battery Technologies held in Aschaffenburg. In 2015 over a period of three days, around 600 interested parties accepted the invitation of Batteryuniversity for an exchange of knowledge with high-caliber experts from the widest range of disciplines.
Dr. Jochen Mähliß expects a similar high level of participation at the 10th Developer Forum Battery Technologies to be held April 5-7, 2016 in Aschaffenburg. In future, it is planned to not only offer events for interested parties from the north of Germany, but also similar local events for neighboring countries such as, for example, Poland. “In recent years, we have noticed a strong and growing interest in innovative storage technologies, especially from developers in Poland. We have therefore, for the first time, decided to also offer this ever increasingly larger number of people a three-day Developer Forum in the Education and Congress Center of the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, Poland. This will take place relatively close to the event held in Aschaffenburg,” said Dr. Jochen Mähliß. He explained that Batteryuniversity had been able to gain BMZ GmbH ‒ Europe’s leading systems supplier of rechargeable batteries, located in Karlstein, Germany ‒ as partner for the planning and organization of the congress and accompanying exhibition to be held June 28-30, 2016. BMZ GmbH’s manufacturing facilities in Poland are among the largest and most modern battery facilities in Europe.
