Camera Manager Provides Plug and Play Ethernet Connectivity

Camera Manager for the uEye® Gigabit Ethernet Camera_Bild

(pressebox) Obersulm, 03.12.2007 - Plug and Play is rather the exception than the rule when it comes to Ethernet! With its uEye® Camera Manager, IDS now demonstrates that an Ethernet camera can be just easy to set up and control as a USB-based model, for example.

The uEye® Camera Manager significantly simplifies the new IDS Gigabit Ethernet cameras and adds yet another easy-to-use tool to the camera's extensive software package. The camera is configured automatically when it is connected to the network. As the IP address is also assigned automatically, no installation is required at hardware level. The tool sets the camera ID and the user string, and displays the current status of all connected cameras. A user-defined configuration mode is provided as well.

The Camera Manager is included with all uEye® cameras from the current driver version 3.10 onwards. It supports not only the USB cameras, but also the Gigabit Ethernet models, whose high-performance interface and two processor cores set new standards in machine vision and image processing. The key features of these cameras include up to 12- or 36-bit color depth, up to 100 full frames per second, a variable power supply of 6 to 24V, adjustable mounting dimensions, and a multi I/O interface with RS232 interface.
