Spitzencluster MAI Carbon

MAI Carbon ist der Spitzencluster des Composites United e.V. (CU) und für dessen Mitglieder in Bayern zuständig. MAI Carbon entstand im Rahmen der Spitzenclusterförderung des BMBF und wird noch heute durch das Bayerische Staatsministerium für Wirtschaft, Landesentwicklung und Energie gefördert. MAI Carbon vereint über 120 Mitglieder aus Wirtschaft, Wissenschaft und anderen Organisationen.

Die Mitglieder sind in allen Branchen des Technologiefeldes Hochleistungs-Faserverbundwerkstoffe aktiv, mit besonderem Fokus auf carbonfaserverstärkte Kunststoffe (CFK). Schwerpunkte liegen auf den Anwenderbranchen Automobilbau, Luft- und Raumfahrt sowie Maschinen- und Anlagenbau.
Durch seine intensiven Aktivitäten im Forschungs- und Entwicklungsbereich ist es MAI Carbon mit seinen Partnern gelungen, die Region zu einem global sichtbaren Innovationstreiber im Bereich Faserverbundleichtbau zu entwickeln, der international gut vernetzt ist.

MAI Carbon deckt, wie alle Abteilungen des CU, die gesamte Wertschöpfungskette der CFK-Technologie und des multimaterialen Leichtbaus ab. So unterstützen wir unsere Partner dabei, in diesen Schlüsseltechnologien an die Spitzenposition auf dem Weltmarkt zu gelangen. Zudem ist MAI Carbon sehr aktiv im Aus- und Weiterbildungsbereich.
