Der DVS – Deutscher Verband für Schweißen und verwandte Verfahren e. V. ist ein technisch-wissenschaftlicher Verband, der sich mit mehr als 125 Jahren Erfahrung umfassend für die rund 250 verschiedenen Verfahren des Fügens, Trennens und Beschichtens engagiert. Das Herzstück aller DVS-Aktivitäten ist die technisch-wissenschaftliche Gemeinschaftsarbeit. Sie steht für die anhaltend enge Verknüpfung von Inhalten und Ergebnissen aus den Bereichen Forschung, Technik und Bildung.

Die Beteiligungsgesellschaften des DVS verarbeiten die Ergebnisse aus dem Verband und präsentieren sie mit ihren eigenen Schwerpunkten nach außen.

Die Hauptgeschäftsstelle des gemeinnützig anerkannten Verbandes ist in Düsseldorf. Die rund 18.000 Mitglieder werden durch die DVS-Landesverbände und DVS-Bezirksverbände direkt vor Ort betreut. Gemeinsam setzen sich alle Mitglieder des Verbandes für eine in jeder Hinsicht zukunftsfähige Fügetechnik ein.
