Consulting project helps Volksbank Leipzig save money
CCMS Consulting project shows that costs can be cut by 50%
The starting point for the project was Volksbank Leipzig's intention to redesign its Consulting Center in Taucha. As part of this, cash processes were scrutinized, covering the cash cycle at the branch and replenishment and emptying of the cash points by the cash-in-transit operator.
Up to now, cash has mainly been handled at the Consulting Center manually by employees with the aid of an automated teller safe and ATM. Slightly more cash is deposited than dispensed. The cash is replenished and removed twice a week by a CiT operator.
Following detailed analysis of the cash flows at the branch, three scenarios for future cash processes were outlined. The bank favored the variant offering the greatest possible savings potential. 90 percent of cash handling is to be relocated to a CINEO cash recycling system and CINEO dispenser, with the intelligent cash cassettes from the cash recycling system, where deposits exceed withdrawals, being used to replenish the ATM. As a result, it is forecast that the number of times the CiT operator will have to be called out will be roughly halved.
A commercial comparison between the current situation and the new process reveals that cash management costs can be reduced by more than 50,000 euros a year. A return on investment will be generated just 19 months after installation of the new technology.
