Pixelpark Never Misses a Beat
New DJ Remix Contest Platform for Beatport Goes Online

Pixelpark, with an office here in Cologne, won a pitch against four US agencies for a contract with Beatport, the world’s largest music store for DJs. The deciding factors in the pitch were the conception and planning for implementing the project on the basis of extremely flexible project management, as well as the company's experience with Cloud projects.
Beatport Play is an innovative platform where DJs and producers can compete against each other in multiple contests running in parallel; the submissions are rated by the public and assessed by a panel of judges, and their data is stored in the Cloud.
The submissions to the contests tripled within just a few days of the launch, and the figures are expected to climb even higher in the coming months.
"DJs and producers dream of winning Beatport remix contests, which have launched the careers of top artists," explains Peter Siciliano, CTO at Beatport. "Our new platform not only allowed us to increase the number of submissions to the contests several times over, but also made the assessment by the panel of experts, who actually choose the winners of the contests at the end of the day, much simpler. And that includes an impressive fraud management function."
