Silver Award at International "Graphis Design Annual"

SWISS KRONO receives third prestigious design award for new brand image

(PresseBox) (Luzern, ) Following upon the heels of the German Design Award and the Corporate Design Award, SWISS KRONO has now pocketed Silver in the Branding category of the Graphis Publishing Group in New York.

The Graphis Annual competition was launched in 1952 by Walter Herdeg of Graphis Magazine, which he had cofounded in Zurich, Switzerland with Dr Walter Amstutz in 1944. Ever since, this publishing house has pursued the task of identifying work of exceptional talent in various categories each year and choosing Platinum, Gold, Silver and Merit winners, which are presented in the Graphis Design Annuals. In this way, Graphis fosters outstanding work in Graphic Design, Advertising, Photography and Art/Illustration.

The challenge in creating the new SWISS KRONO brand image was to come up with a design that all 11 subsidiaries in eight countries could identify with. The result, which is the brainchild of CLAUS KOCH™ based in Hamburg, symbolises the merging of the group’s sites and forges a common identity with a new icon and shared name. All of them now bear the SWISS KRONO name and use the same logo and the slogan “Wood at its best” translated into their respective languages. The effect is to clearly show that all of the firms belong to the SWISS KRONO GROUP. “Our intention with this strong, unified brand is to preserve tradition while sending an unmistakeable signal internationally that we will be helping to shape the market of the future,” says Ines Kainl, President of the Administrative Council of the SWISS KRONO GROUP.
