N.A.T. releases most recent version of NATView, the configuration and management tool for MicroTCA systems

NATView is an easy to handle tool for visualising and managing any MicroTCA system that contains a MicroTCA Carrier Hub of N.A.T.

(PresseBox) (Sankt Augustin, ) November 10th, 2008 - N.A.T., specialist for high-performance network interfaces and industrial computers, introduces its newest version of NATView, the configuration and management tool for MicroTCA systems, at Electronica 2008. The current version contains further improvements and features such as an improved FRU editor, system event log including filters and "online" event visualisation.

NATView is an easy to handle tool for visualising and managing any MicroTCA system that contains a MicroTCA Carrier Hub of N.A.T. Being JAVA based NATView is operating system independent and can run on any computer supporting a JAVA engine. Due to the flexible design such a computer can be either an AMC module inside the MicroTCA system itself or any external device being connected to the MicroTCA system by Ethernet.

NATView enables the user to graphically display, manage and control any component inside a MicroTCA system, such as chassis, backplane, cooling units, power modules, AMCs or any type of sensor.

NATView reads all information from the components installed in a MicroTCA system, such as vendor and product information, serial numbers, hardware and software versions, sensors including their data. All information is displayed in a photo-realistic way.

As per the MicroTCA standard, NATView communicates with the NAT-MCH via the well defined Remote Management Control Protocol (RMCP). The host part of RMCP is included in NATView so that no additional protocol has to be installed on the host CPU.

Therefore, without any further installation NATView can be launched from even just a USB-Stick, i.e. during service in the field.

NATView supports any standard MicroTCA system by default. Due to its open design support for custom components can be easily added to NATView by the user himself at any time.
