Autonomic Resources Receives Award for GSA's First Cloud BPA

Autonomic Resources Cloud-Platform provides federal agencies with simplified computing power, storage and networking infrastructure

(PresseBox) (Cary, ) Autonomic Resources, a service integration firm and cloud provider serving the U.S. federal government, announced today that it has been awarded by the General Services Administration (GSA) a blanket purchase agreement (BPA) for the first government-wide contract for cloud computing. Under this BPA, Autonomic Resources Cloud-Platform (ARC-P) will offer Public Cloud Services to provide U.S. government customers with simplified computing power, storage, and networking infrastructure that can be acquired and utilized on-demand, all from FISMA certified data centers with enhanced multi-factor authentication access.

Autonomic Resources is one of only a few vendors to have met the technical requirements necessary to be awarded a GSA contract for cloud computing. The BPA demonstrates that Autonomic meets pre-qualified technical and pricing requirements, making the procurement process fast, flexible, and cost-effective for federal government agencies. Autonomic's cloud offering will also be available through GSA's Apps.gov. While a company and its product are not required to be FISMA-certified and accredited to initially be listed on Apps.gov, FISMA certification must be completed before a federal agency would utilize the solutions within Apps.gov.

"We are pleased to support the federal initiatives to embrace cloud technologies, and to have been awarded one of the GSA's first BPAs for Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)," said Cole Crawford, Autonomic's CTO. "Our ARC-P offerings have been designed with a focus on secure cloud computing, utilizing Intel's Trusted Execution Technology, SPYRUS's multi-factor authentication as well as cloud interoperability and portability."

"We are uniquely positioned to combine the salient features of our GSA BPA awards such as DAR and SAIR with this offering," added John Keese, Autonomic's president.

ARC-P provides value to government customers by supplying simplified computing power, storage and supporting infrastructure that can be acquired and utilized on-demand. Federal agencies can now achieve rapid datacenter capabilities without the need for complicated provisioning and contractor-managed processes. ARC-P is also available as a private cloud platform that combines solutions from leading vendors such as Canonical, Novell, Zenoss, Enomaly and Dell.

Autonomic Resources will hold a free webinar on December 16 to discuss the benefits of ARC-P technologies for federal customers. For more information about Autonomic's cloud offerings or to register for the webinar, please visit http://www1.autonomicresources.com/l/3312/2010-10-26/4P3P9.
