Award-winning young authors narrate their "local stories" about the metropolises Montreal, Sydney and Cape Town. The financial section documents the impressive figures from Audi's 13th successive record year. The Report is published at today's Annual Press Conference.

These "local stories" about Montreal, Sydney and Cape Town take the form of a separate booklet. A whistle-stop tour of the brand's 100 years highlights Audi models that wrote automotive history. The engine sounds of the most illustrious production models have been compiled on a CD enclosed with the Annual Report - an audio experience with a difference, ringtone inclusive.
This year, the Audi Annual Report comes with three different front covers: The Audi Q5, R8 V10 and A5 Cabriolet each adorn one of three different color print runs of the Audi 2008 Annual Report, making them eminently collectable pieces of automotive memorabilia.
Audi first explored the novel concept of an annual report comprising magazine and financial section in 2005. Last June, the Audi 2007 Annual Report was voted the best annual report of the year by Forum Corporate Publishing e.V. The "BCP Best of Corporate Publishing Award" is the biggest competition for corporate communications in Europe.
The 2008 Audi Annual Report is published in a total print run of 100,000 copies, in the languages German, English and Chinese. AUDI AG sold a total of 1,003,000 cars in 2008 and thus achieved its thirteenth consecutive record year. With revenue of € 34,2 million and profit before tax of €3,2 million, the company attained best figures. Audi produces vehicles in Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm (Germany), Györ (Hungary), Changchun (China) and Brussels (Belgium). Aurangabad in India saw the start of local ckdproduction of the Audi A6 at the end of 2007 and of the Audi A4 in early October 2008. The company is active in more than 100 markets worldwide. AUDI AG's wholly owned subsidiaries include Automobili Lamborghini Holding S.p.A. in Sant'Agata Bolognese (Italy) and quattro GmbH in Neckarsulm. Audi currently employs around 57,000 people worldwide, including 45,000 in Germany. The brand with the four rings invests more than €2 billion each year in order to sustain the company's technological lead embodied in its "Vorsprung durch Technik" slogan. Audi plans to significantly increase the number of models in its portfolio by 2015 to 40. The Audi brand celebrates its 100th birthday in 2009. The company was founded by August Horch in Zwickau on July 16, 1909; he named it Audi after the Latin translation of his surname 'Horch'.
